WHO AM I

Hola! My name is Tara Larkai. Creator of this site and author of most of the blog posts on this site. I have been on a mission to see the world since I was in my teens however being a student with no money, it was only about 3 years ago that I was able to make this a reality. I created this site to share my travel experiences and inspire others to see other parts of the world. I had a blog on another site for 3 years but recently decided it was time for me to have my own site.
I got the travel bug from my mother and sister. Being the youngest, I was fortunate to be able to follow them around on every trip that they went on. I visited majority of the USA states following them around. Besides several trips to England during my college days and a trip to Mexico for a friends wedding right after college, I had not really done alot of travelling. My first tour to Asia (Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macau) is what really motivated me to continue to travel. The trip changed my life and I have been on my global journey since then. I hope that reading my tales will inspire you to take the first steps in going on your own global journey. Unlike many travel bloggers, I did not quit my job and leave everything behind. In fact, I have a full time job and I am a wife. I get the same measly amount of leave time that the average American gets but the difference for me is that I plan out my year well and only use my leave time for trips. I travel with my cousin (Chloe) and my hubby. What makes my blog different from others is that I like to go on fancy trips on a budget. I do not stay in hostels or couch surf but I do promise that my trips are just as enjoyable and affordable. I travel for food, culture and adventure. You will see that as you read my blog.
When I am not on the plane seeing the world, I enjoy baking cakes/cupcakes (I bake professionally--contact me for that), I am a huge foodie so I love trying all kinds of weird foods, I love event planning and internet research. Wanna know more about me? Contact me through the link below. I hope that reading my tales will inspire you to take the first steps in going on your own global journey.

ABOUT ME

Over 3 years ago, I was invited by my cousin to tour Taipei, Hong Kong and Macau. This trip completely changed my life and made me realize the small space in the world that I occupy and have been on a global journey to see the world ever since. I started this blog to share my travel experiences and stories with people and hopefully inspire them to travel. I love visiting understated countries and cities because in my experience they end up being hidden gems. I have visited 32 countries and 42 US states.
